64 New Brunswick anglers should note that many of the lakes in the Acadian Timber freehold (Maps 34, 43, 48, etc.) are closed to the general public. Blind and Riley Lakes are by reservation only. Lakes like Beaver, Big Everett, Gulquac, Island and Stewart are lease only. The exceptions are First Lake, Mud Lake (Mud Lake Branch), Sisson Lake, Third Lake, Trousers Lake and Twin Lakes. A valid forest recreation pass is required and no bait fish are allowed. Call 506-356-4101 or visit www.acadiantimber.nb.ca for more information. 2012
83 The Gounamitz River description is basically correct; however it is seldom run with no real portage trails. There are more or less four major drops that can be run depending on your skill level and water levels. A better (more paddling/less driving take-out would be at Kedgewick River. Jardin Brook Road also works, but there is no bridge or access at the Boston Brook/Restigoughe junction (this is private property). 2007
83 Malisee Canoe Trail: From Benton paddlers travel westward upstream on the Eel River all the way to 1st Eel Lake. You will have to be prepared to portage, pole and even line your way up the river. We should also mention again the East Grand Lake is big and can get dangerous when windy. For a recent trip report visit http://www.kublick.ca/index.htm. 2007
84 Kedgewick River: Rapids Depot is not a settlement. It is the former location of a logging camp. It?s also the location (above the bridge) of the biggest rapids on the commonly run part of the river. Class 2 unless the water is really high. 2007

16 A6 There is no bridge over the Eel River along the Porten Road. 2007
16 E6 Highway 2 has been rerouted south of Tweedle Lake in this area. 2009
27 E6 The Wildlife Management Zone south of Highway 8 should be WZ 17. 2008
44 D2 The canoe trail shown for the Southeast Upsalquitch River, starting at Upsalquitch Lake, is restricted by falls at the 'Flying Eddy' that cannot be portaged. If you start at the falls, you only have 2 hours paddling to get to the forks. This stretch has nice rapids that can be run. Local operators do provide shuttles in the area, including the more popular North branch from Mile 25 or Mile 10. 2008
