26 D5 Black Lake does border Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park, but most of the shoreline is private property. Unfortunately, the BLPOA (Black Lake Property Owners Association) has closed the access to public use. 2011
27 E5 There is limited public access to Picard Lake off Barker Road. The old launch is now nearly impassible even with a canoe. 2005
27 D1 Blue Hawk Lake is only accessible by foot or portage from County Road 3. There is no public boat launch. 2009
29 B7 Crowe River Route: Tagamon section. There is a canoe access symbol and write up on Tangamong Lake. There is no longer public access here as the property has been sold and the new owners are not allowing access to the lake through there property. 2005
30 A3-F4 Beyond Hughes Landing Road (near Skootamatta Lake), Forest Road is an unmaintained forest access road that is best left to 4wd vehicles. It does, however, eventually link Hwy 41 with Hwy 62 (via other backroads). 2009
30 F5 The Hydro Road connecting Lingham Lake Road east of Highway 62 and Hunt Road west of Highway 41 is a 4wd road only. Please respect all private property signs in the area. 2010
33 C3 There are hiking and snowshoeing trails offered at the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary near Rosseau, Ontario. They are well signed and range in distance from 800 metres to 8 km. Visit http://www.avws.ca/webimages/trails/AVWS_trail_map.pdf for a trail map. The sanctuary is a registered charity whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and release Ontario wildlife. 2011
35 B7-D4 Check with the Haliburton Water Trails office about the camps in the Frost Centre and around the Poker Lake system as the MNR no longer run those sites. There have been some changes as a result of the switch over. 2009
36 B7 The tornado of 2005 closed several of the Haliburton Cross-Country Ski Trails in the area. 2007
37 C6 Ryans Lane is private and a gate halfway down the road restricts public access to the lake. 2009
37 C6 Hudson Lake does not have a boat launch. The best access is found via old road off Clear Lake Road. Anglers will find smallmouth bass and lake trout here. 2010
44 B6 Timbertrail Lane is not a through road between Hwy 60 and Hwy 8. It can only be walked from the south end of South Tasso Lake to junction at Marten Camp Lake. 2012
