- First, convert your paper or pdf map to a jpeg by scanning the printed map or by converting the file.
- Next, use Google Earth and the latest Garmin software to geo-reference the map and save the map in kmz format to your micro SD card or directly to your GPS.
- Your custom map then appears as part of your regular map.
