When it comes to navigating the backcountry while hunting in the modern world, I still fall back on a trusty Backroad Topo Maps of any of my WMU (Wildlife Management Units). I can always rely on these world class, large scale topographic maps because the batteries won't die and the service is always on, I don't have to wait for a page to load or worry about seeing the photo as a whole. As we immerged from the trail into the parking area we caught sight of a deer less than ten feet from our Land Rover. She didn’t seem afraid of us and as we moved closer, we spotted a fawn in the trees near her. They moved slowly through the trees, aware of our presence but not overly concerned. It marked another day of seeing at least one deer in the park.Read More >
