How to setup our maps on your windows PC

VERY IMPORTANT: IF you are updating your computer version. We suggest you update your SD Card, before updating your Computer maps, to see if you like the changes as you cannot go back to Version 1.0 after updating your computer maps.

In order to be able to use your SD card information on your Computer, you will need to download the computer Version once you register your product. In Order to see the downloaded maps on your computer, you will need MapSource/BaseCamp already on your computer.

Installing the Computer Version on windows:

Step 1) Download the file, and choose "SAVE AS" and save the file on your desktop. After the download is complete, you will see the icon in the picture below. (Keep in mind your desktop image might look different than the one below).

Step 2) Double click the .exe file you just downloaded. You will get the set-up window below. Click on Next.

Step 3) You will see Installation Procedures. It is very important for you to read this carefully before procedeeing. Once you are done reading this and everything seems good, click next.

Step 4) Accept License Agreements and click Next.

Step 5) Press Install.

This process might take a while, keep your eye on the progress bard

Step 6) Make sure you have "view readme file" checked. This is your user manual for our product. Click finish to finish the installation. IF you have Version 1 installed, also make sure you have "Launch Backroad Mapbooks ###" checked, as this will clean up the old and make sure everything works fine.

Step 7) Our User Guide will tell you the basics of what you need to see the maps, a legend, and some tips and tricks to use them. You can find this document in the future by going to "All Programs >> Backroad Mapbooks" in your start menu. You can also save this in another location you can easily find for future reference.

Step 8) Now open your MapSource/BaseCamp and follow the instructions below. If you do not have MapSource or BaseCamp, you will need to download BaseCamp from Garmin's website.

Step 9) You will get the message "Locked Maps Detected". Click on "Unlock Maps".

Step 10) Click on "Unlock Regions" and then click on "Add".

Step 11) Copy/Paste your Unlock Key here and click "OK"(You can get your key again by logging back into your account and clicking on "to check my products" under "My GPS products".)

Step 12) You will see "Backroad Mapbooks" listed now. Click "Close". The maps are now ready for use on your computer.
