How to setup our maps on your Mac
VERY IMPORTANT: IF you are updating your computer version. We suggest you update your SD Card, before updating your Computer maps, to see if you like the changes as you cannot go back to Version 1.0 after updating your computer maps.
In order to be able to use your SD card information on your computer you will need to download the Mac Version once you register your product. (It will be in front of the product name you just registred called "Computer Download").
Installing the Mac Version on your Computer:
Step 1) Download the file and save it on your desktop so you can find it easily later on. After the download is complete, you will see the icon in the picture below your file will have an ending of .gmapi.zip. (Keep in mind your desktop image will look different than the one below and the name on the file will depend on the product you bought).

Step 2) Double click the .zip file you just downloaded to uncompress the file. (you can also click uncompress in the pop-up file menu)

Step 3) Once uncompressed, you will have a file on your desktop that ends in .gmapi.

Step 4) Double click the file to install the maps. (You will need map-manager/mapinstaller already installed on your computer from the Garmin website).

Step 5) Once installation is done successfully, you will see a window like below. Click Quit.

Step 6) Now open your RoadTrip OR Basecamp program on your mac. You will see the pop-up window saying "Locked Maps Detected". Click on Continue.

Step 7) Click on Unlock and then "Edit Unlock Codes..." in RoadTrip....

or click on Maps and then "Edit Unlock Codes..." in Basecamp....

Step 8) Click on "Add", and copy paste the key from your account (the one you received when you registered your product) in the field where it says "Enter unlock code".

Step 9) Click on the field "Map Product" and make sure "Backroad Mapbooks" is showing. Close the window. You are now ready to use the maps on your computer.
