How to put Backroad POI file on your SD-card/Device
This is for DVD Customers ONLY. In order to be able to search for our POI's (recreational points of interest), you will need to have the POI File either on your SD Card or your GPS Unit.
Putting the Backroad POI file on your SD-Card OR your Garmin UNit
Step 1) Click on Login at the top of this page, or any other page on Backroad GPS Maps Website.

Step 2) Enter your email address and password you registered with, and press login.

Step 3) Scroll down your account page until you get to "My GPS Products", click on "To Check My Products".

Step 4) In front of your registered product, click on "Updates Available".

Step 5) Under "Product Updates", Click on "Backroad POI". Save the file to your desktop.

Step 6) Please choose "SAVE AS" and save the file on your desktop. Once the download is complete, you will see the following file on your desktop. If you just click save the file most likely be in your "downloads" folder.

Step 7) Now you need to find the Garmin Folder either on your SD Card or on your Device.

Double click the Garmin Folder (on your computer OR on your device)

Step 8) Create a "new folder" if putting the POI information on your SD Card. IF putting the POI file on your Unit skip to Step 9.

Call it "POI"

Step 9) Copy the POI file you downloaded to the "POI" Folder.

Step 10) Once done, you will see a .gpi file that starts with BRM. You now have Backroad POI's to use with our maps and on your device.
