Update Tracks and Waypoints and Win!
Building our incredible Backroad Mapbook database would not have been possible without our readers. Now we are asking you to help refine our GPS maps. Notice a trail missing or a Point of Interest off then please send us a note. Better yet, send us a new track or GPS coordinate. All entries will be entered into a free mapbook draw. We are also running an Update Contest for those with multiple tracks or waypoints (more than 5). Click here for more details.
There are a few types of updates you can send us at updates@backroadmapbooks.com.
Updating Tracks/Routes How to
If you have a track or route you want to send us, please send it via e-mail:
Track Instructions
You must first save your track. You can do this under Track Manager or similar feature (consult your Garmin user manual for more details on this). Please try to save the track of the feature you want us to see. You can do this by modifying the area of coverage (usually by time and date).
After saving your track, you can then connect your GPS to the computer. Once connected, the Garmin directory should pop up. In that directory will be a Garmin folder. Open the GPX folder and you will see your saved tracks.
Simply save this track to your computer or you can e-mail it directly to updates@backroadmapbooks.com. Be sure to include a note on what you are sending us and why.
