Register your Backroad GPS maps

Important Note: (for SD card Customers) We strongly suggest you download Firefox or Google Chrome or Safari (for Mac users) before attempting to download our computer Version. We now offer both PC and Mac Compatible Downloads. If you use Mac please refer to this FAQ for what you need before you install our maps. There is also step by step instructions in your account for both Windows and Mac installations.

- Computer Version is only available for Provincial Titles and Vancouver Island. We are offering a discount to customers that bought the old Regional titles to upgrade to a full Provincial Title, please contact the office for more details.

Backroad GPS Maps SD Card Registration Steps:

Step 1) Click on Login to go to our Online Store.

Step 2) Sign into your account. IF you do not have an account with us, you will need to creat one, on this page.

Step 3) On "My Account Information" page scroll down to see "My GPS Products" heading. Click "To Register" to register your product.

Step 4) Go to "Backroad GPS Maps Micro-SD Version.

Step 5) Choose your product. This is very important. So please make sure you are registering the correct title.

Step 6) Click on one of the links below depending on the computer type you have.

Windows Instructions:

Step 7) Click on Browse.

Step 8) A window will pop up saying "file upload". YOU HAVE TO STAY IN THIS WINDOW. Click on "computer" or "my computer" on the left sidebar of this window.

Find your SD card under "devices with removable storage" and click "open".

Step 9) Click on "Garmin" Folder, and click "Open".

Step 10) Click on GMAPPSUPP.UNL and click "Open".

Step 11) You will be back on our website. Click "Submit". You are now done Registering.

You should now see a blue line giving you your unlock code. And a Product Name and bunch of Green Buttons should have appeared.

Step 12) Clicking on your product name in this example "British Columbia-SD" will take you to your product page, where you can find, computer downloads, You unlock key, and any updates available for your product.

Mac Instructions:

Step 7) Click on "Choose File".

Step 8) A window will pop up. YOU HAVE TO STAY IN THIS WINDOW. Under Devices Find your SD card. Then Click On "Garmin".

 

Step 9) Click on GMAPPSUPP.UNL and click "Choose".

Step 10) You will be back on our website. Click "Submit". You are now done Registering.

DVD Instructions:

Step 1) Click on Login to go to our Online Store.

Step 2) Sign into your account. IF you do not have an account with us, you will need to creat one, on this page.

Step 3) On "My Account Information" page scroll down to see "My GPS Products" heading. Click "To Register" to register your product.

Step 4) Scroll down to "Backroad GPS Maps-DVD Version".

Step 5) You will need your DVD. The Access Code (DVD ID) is ON the DVD itself.

Step 6) Fill in the "Access Code" and "Unit ID" and Click Generate. IF you don't know the unit ID, you can click on "what is this?" to find out more.

Step 7) You will get a warning window. Please double check the Access Code and Unit ID. IF they are correct. Press OK. IF they are not correct, press Cancel,and go back to step 6 again.

Step 8) You are now Done. You will see a message in RED appear along with the product your just registered and bunch of green buttons in front of it. Keep in mind, your key will be IN YOUR ACCOUNT, within 24 hours of registration on BUSINESS DAYS.

Step 9) Clicking on the Product name. In this example :"British Columbia-DVD" will take you to your Product page.Here you can find POI information, your unlock key, and any updates that are available for your product.
