How to update your Backroad POI's
In order to be able to update your SD card information you will need to have registered your product first. (Please make sure the update applies to your version of the product, for example "Version 2.0 is now available, if you have version 1.0 click below to update". So if you have version 2.0, you do not need to update).
Updating the POI: (everyone needs to do these steps)
Step 1) Click on Login at the top of this page, or any other page on Backroad GPS Maps Website.

Step 2) Enter your email address and password you registered with, and press login.

Step 3) Scroll down your account page until you get to "My GPS Products", click on "To Check My Products".

Step 4) In front of your registered product, click on "Updates Available".

Step 5) Go back to your account page (if you have left it). Under "Product Updates", Click on "Backroad POIs". Save the file to your desktop.

Step 6) Once the download is complete, you will see the following file on your desktop.

IF you have a PC/Windows Follow Steps 9-14 under "Windows Instructions".IF you have a Mac follow Steps 9-14 under "Mac Instructions".
Windows Instructions:
Step 7) Now either put the micro-SD card in the SD card Adaptor and put it in your computers card reader OR put the micro-SD card in your unit, attach your unit to the computer and turn the unit on. IF you had the DVD version and put the POI file on your Device, then just attach the device to your computer.
Once you have done that, go to Start>> Computer OR My computer and find the SD Card or your unit (for some customers with dvd version). It will be under a heading "Devices with Removable Storage". If you are not sure which one, keep clicking until you see one with Just a "GARMIN" folder in it in bright yellow.

What you will see if you opened our SD Card. OR find the Garmin Folder on your Unit (for some DVD version customers).

Step 8) Double Click the Garmin Folder. You should ONLY see the following content in the "Garmin Folder" for the SD Card. If you see more files and folders, you are probably looking at your Unit's Garmin folder.

Step 9) Double Click the POI folder.

Step 10) Delete the old "backroad" POI File that is there.

You have to accept "yes"

Step 11) Copy the new file you dowloaded into the "POI" folder. The file name will start with BRM and end in .gpi.

DONE) That is it, you are done. You can now use your new updated Backroad GPS maps in your unit.
Mac Instructions:
Step 7) Now either put the micro-SD card in the SD card Adaptor and put it in your computers card reader OR put the micro-SD card in your unit, attach your unit to the computer and turn the unit on. You will see the image below on your desktop. (It might say No Name, or Garmin or BRMxxx). If you had the DVD and put the POI on your Unit, then attach your unit to the computer (it will show you an icon on your desktop with the name of the Unit).

Double Click the SD Card/Or the Unit name (for some DVD customers only):

Step 8) Double Click the Garmin Folder. You should ONLY see the following content in the "Garmin Folder" if you are on the SD Card. IF you see more files and folders, you are probably looking at your Unit's Garmin folder.

Step 9) Double Click the POI folder.

Step 10) Click on the old "Backroad" poi file and move it to trash.

Step 11) Copy the new file you dowloaded into the "POI" folder. The file name will start with BRM and end in .gpi.

DONE) That is it, you are done. You can now use your new updated Backroad GPS maps in your unit.
